William H. Newkirk graduated from UCLA with a BA in History in 1970, and then after, spent five months on active duty in the California Army National Guard. After completion of Army basic training, he commenced work with Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company, until commencing law school at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1972. His final year of law school was taken at Loyola University in Los Angeles, and he received his J.D. from Southwestern University in 1975.

That year he commenced practice as a lawyer with Hillsinger & Costanzo in Los Angeles, where he remained until June of 1978, at which time he took an associate position with the Law Offices of Bonne, Jones, Bridges, Mueller & O'Keefe, where he remained until 1981. In 1981 he opened the Law Offices of William H. Newkirk, where he has practiced since, without interruption.

The staff at his firm has grown to three lawyers, including himself, his wife Colleen M. Newkirk, and Barry A. Drucker and Philip W. Ganong is Of Counsel.

Colleen Newkirk is admitted to practice law in both California and Wisconsin, having been admitted first in Wisconsin in 1980, followed by admission in California in 1981. She also has a license as a registered nurse in both California and Wisconsin. She has substantial insurance defense litigation experience in Wisconsin, and in California with the Law Offices of Bonne, Jones, Bridges, Mueller & O'Keefe.

Barry A. Drucker was admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1989, and has worked as an associate in the firm since admission to the practice in this State.

William H. Newkirk is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, having been admitted in September 1984. He is also presently a member of the Board of Governors of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association, which position he has held since 1984, and he is a member of CTLA, having been a member of the Board of Governors since 1989. Mr. Newkirk has been awarded specialty recognition by CTLA in Personal Injury Litigation, General Trial Litigation, and Professional Negligence Litigation.
