Bill Newkirk Named To 2010 Super Lawyers

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (Feb. 8, 2009): The Law Offices of William H. Newkirk has been named to 2010 Southern California Super Lawyers. Only five percent of the lawyers in Southern California receive this honor.

"Super Lawyers is a particularly meaningful honor to me because a significant part of the selection process is the nominations you receive from other attorneys," says Newkirk.

Newkirk represents people who are victims of medical malpractice or serious personal injuries, or who have lost a loved one in a wrongful death. He blends relentless preparation with knowledge of the law to trial, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences and frequently has earned his clients multi-million dollar compensation.

After graduating in 1970 from the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in history and a minor in chemistry, Newkirk worked in sales for Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company. He credits this experience for pushing him towards law. He attended Loyola Law School and graduated from Southwestern University School of Law with a J.D. in 1975.

Newkirk is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. He also is an active member of the Consumer Attorney of California and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, in which he is a member emeritus of the board of governors.

Since 1980 Newkirk has been a judge pro tem in Los Angeles Superior Small Claims Appeals Court and since 1988 a judge pro tem in West District Small Claims Court.

Newkirk lives in Brentwood with wife Susan and their daughter Jemma. His son is a freshman at California State University Channel Islands.
